With Siren Communications quickly expanding, we have many exciting opportunities coming our way from the various sectors we work across. Recently this included a consumer-based project with South West Water.
This brief was to spread good news and humanise the water provider within its region. At Siren, we have over a decade of relevant experience with businesses that create a positive impact such as Motability Operations and Rabbie’s. We continuously work with regional media to increase awareness of local brands such as Holy Island Gin in Northumberland and the Cheddar Gorge Cheese Company, Somerset. Therefore, we were the perfect choice to spread the news of the positive action being made by this industry stalwart.
Siren’s excellent reputation for running media relations campaigns had South West Water knocking on our door to create a suitable narrative to drive awareness of its Neighbourhood Fund, while simultaneously working to raise the supplier’s reputation in these regional areas. The Neighbourhood Fund was launched by the Devon-based Water Provider to support Dorset, Devon and Cornwall communities with a generous £100,000-a-year funding through various grants.
In order to maximise coverage and awareness of the Scheme, Siren told the stories of the much-valued local organisations which have received needed funds as a consequence of the pandemic. These include the Cornwall Accessible Activities Programme, Dementia Friendly Honiton, Christchurch Life Saving Club and many more excellent charities. Moreover, we strategically accompanied the releases with a number of advertorial placements in order to maximise the awareness and understanding of the impact that Neighbourhood Fund scheme was making.
Our telling of the story through the eyes of the charities and community groups allowed South West Water to be seen and understood as playing an actively positive role in the lives of the people living in Devon, Cornwall and Dorset. We are pleased to have secured a raft of impactful coverage in key outlets across the three regions.
Siren’s excellent media relations skills gained South West Water coverage everywhere from region-wide media to village-specific, demonstrating their care and interest throughout the communities it supports, as well as our skills in engaging local and regional media. This ranges from multiple interviews with BBC Radio Cornwall and Devon to features in the Bodmin Voice, Camelford & Delabole Post and the Bridport & Lyme Regis News.
